      connecticut is the worst imo

i hate that we’re stereotyped as only a bunch of rich white people with wicker furniture. we’re actually by far the worst state for income inequality in new england, and potentially the whole country. we’re also 40% poc.

CT is where you go to see overwhelmingly white towns where every household makes 200k next to redlined cities with extreme poverty, decaying infrastructure and schools, and cop cars at every block. it’s hard to fucking survive here, my mom was working overtime as an LP nurse raising my brother and i in a one bedroom apartment

My dad got really excited when I moved out here because he thought I was moving to New Haven

Most Puerto Ricans outside of Puerto Rico

Clam pie is good, but it does not justify the rest of the mess

Yeah, New Hampshire is like the Blighttown portion of New England

At least there’s no sales tax and the state run liquor stores have an excellent selection

When I studied in Boston, we had “climb and canvass” program where we would go across state line to NH, buy some fireworks, go climbing in North Conway or Keene, then signed up to canvass door-to-door. I knocked hundreds of doors for Obama in 2012 (forgive me comrades, I was a lib back then), then for Bernie in 2016. With the MiniVAN app, canvassing was just like Pokemon Go-to-the-polls but more fun. We terrorized the whole neighborhood, they hate us MA college kids so much.
