    I think it was Roddenberry who said he didn’t want star trek to turn into a show about laser gun fights, and I think that was a good call.

    The only thing I actually want from Star Trek is an episodic, workplace drama staring a bunch of competent professionals doing their jobs in a sci-fi setting. Not everything has to have universe-ending stakes.
