House Republicans are launching a vast re-investigation of the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, seeking to push the blame away from Donald Trump who has been indicted over his actions or his supporters in the mob siege trying to overturn the 2020 election.

As Trump campaigns to return to the White House, the House Administration subcommittee on Oversight held the first of what is expected to be regular public hearings revisiting the official account, which had aired in great detail in 2022 by the House’s Select Committee on Jan. 6.

Chairman Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., called Jan. 6 a “dark day” in U.S. history as he opened Tuesday’s hearing to delve into the investigation of pipe bombs that were left outside Republican and Democratic party headquarters that day.

But he said, “we still have many unanswered questions.”

Why even bother? Trumpzombies already believe he’s innocent of anything and everything bad that has ever happened and everyone else knows Congressional Republicans are corrupt and full of shit. I guess there’s a few dumbass fence sitters they might sway.

      They want to rewrite history.

Publish their own narrative and call it “official” even though there already is one. Then they can claim the other is misinformation.

Distracting from the rest of their circus.

They refused to participate in the Jan. 6 investigation and hearings four years ago. There’s no way this isn’t a sham, and they know it.

I think for the same reason that kids bully their classmates. Some sick power trip over getting away with blatant lies and smug satisfaction from pretending to have the moral high ground. That’s what the Trumpanzees like to see. I don’t believe for a second they actually think he is innocent.
