    How many companies do you think make voting machines?

      States use a variety of methods for voting, and not all use machines. Besides, all they need are two companies, and if one gets a bad rep, states will buy from the other one, so they both have to balance any temptation to cheat against their profits.

            Laws don’t mean much anymore if you haven’t noticed. They own the machines or can pay to develop 0days for the ones they don’t.
