Vietnam and Afghanistan disprove whatever point you’re trying to make about the military being able to occupy cities they’re not wanted in. You can’t control a city with tanks and planes, you need boots on the ground. The IRA brought one of the most powerful governments to the negotiating table and they weren’t nearly as armed as the American people.
