Hello, I have a rather mundane question, but I can’t seem to find a clear answer online. Suppose I’m cycling or running in the UK and I accidentally knock someone over, causing them injury or disability. What type of insurance would cover my liability in such a case?
In some other European countries, home insurance covers civil liability, but this doesn’t appear to be the case in the UK with standard home contents insurance.

Liability insurance. For cycling, a membership to UK Cycling will cover you for up to £10M. And also gives you other benefits.
You could purchase this type of insurance independently too.
Hope this helps!
