Everyone else at the time thought Hitler wouldn’t do anything if he was left alone. It was when Hitler attacked Poland that everyone then believed Churchill and gave him support that made him Prime Minister.

Stalin literally had a breakdown when Hitler invaded because he couldn’t imagine is bud attacking him.
