I’m a trans 18 yr old and was unable to vote in this last election as I was a month too young. I’ve really wanted to get out and protest, I’ve just not had an opportunity to until today/tomorrow. I’m going to try to make it to my state capital tomorrow, but if I can’t I’ll be attending the local protests in my city :)

I don’t want to be pedantic, but it seems 1933 is the year with the closest analogy to what you intend, since thats the year the Nazis took power.

1939 would be when WWII kicked off for Europe. I guess one could say the next World War is cooking off, but I don’t think thats what OP intends to be commenting on.

1940 1941 is when the US was dragged into WWII…I guess i would say that’s the year that put the World in World War II…Uh, but yeah, gonna have to hard disagree that we’re there yet.

I mean yeah, I’m aware, but it’s Trump second mandate. And he already tried a coup… My interpretation was that OP was referring the beginning of the 3rd World War. Maybe we’re not there yet on a military level, but there’s definitively an economic war ongoing and at the speed things are going, chances are he will try ton annex Groenland (think Poland) before the end of the year. We’re only 3 months in…

I guess I could see that argument.

If I understand correctly, 1938/39 is when Japan started getting frisky with Manchuria / Northwest China, to which Chinese immigrants / Chinese heritage Americans on the US west coast demanded action by the US government, which then caused the US to stop selling steel and other industrial goods to Japan, effectively starting a trade war.

I don’t think I agree with your conclusion, but I def see the logical basis and how it relates to current world events.

I wish I’m wrong but this administration keeps adding fuel to the fire every damn day.
